It turns out that Sean's finger-wagging gesture means "helicopter" -- which Merrie noticed a few days ago.
Though Sean seems to use it occasionally for other similar rhythmic rotor-based sounds (such as fans), the way that he has expanded the "banana" sign to include other foods occasionally... and, confusingly to us at times, to mean that he wants food, but specifically not a banana.
I'm not sure if "banana but only banana" would be harder to explain than "Venn diagram" to a fifteen-month-old.

I'll note that either he thinks about helicopters A LOT (maybe he thinks we can summon them?) or it might be a broader sign like "outside" for him.
Or, that I'm always in trouble with him and that's why he does this finger wagging. Oh well.
