the week I've been waiting for... celebratory guacamole!

Hi folks! Greetings from beautiful DC-- it's full-on spring (which means gorgeous weather, beautiful trees and full-on allergies-- but worth it) and it's the week I've been excited about for a while... the Rookie is the size of an avocado.
We have a busy May-- 2 weddings (buddy/fmr cowkr Jess in TN this weekend, high school friend Kathy at the end of the month in Atlanta) and Kate and Bub's 30th bday wkd (Dodsons are heading to a cabin in WV over Memorial Day). The Rookie will be well-traveled (and famous, per last week's appearance on Al Jazeera).
I'm feeling good, as a whole. Played frisbee with the team last Saturday-- not sure if it's my last game of 2008 or not, but felt good to run around. I am also still exercising either at the gym or by walking most days, though not as intensely as before. I am having a harder time sleeping (or, rather, I still fall asleep hard and then wake up in the middle of the night often, but am now having a harder time going back to sleep). I'm not sure if this is pregnancy related or just life related-- hard time shutting my brain off (and a good chunk of that is worrying about the financial and logistics side of how life is changing, so I guess that's pregnancy related...).
I am mostly not in maternity clothes still... it's nice to get back into spring/summer clothes and I figure that this is my last hurrah in some of my typical summer wear, so I am rotating through to wear most things (only the looser ones) once before I maybe can't anymore. I'm both anxious to look more pregnant (because I feel like I just look like a lumpy blob now) and to not get bigger (because I see my gorgeous friend Lea manipulating her big belly around and think about maneuvering that...). Oh well...
That's the news here. We haven't felt any "quickening" yet but I hope we will by the time we are in WV so FutureGrammaDodson can check it out, perhaps.
Love to all and happy spring!!!!xoxoxo merrie
