lemonade!

Hi everyone! This week, the Rookie is the size of a lemon and I am kind of like the woman in the cartoon at the end of the email below... if you look closely, you can see. Might be my last week in my normal clothes (at least pants... I have some looser fitting skirts). I feel like I've gotten noticeably bigger even since the weekend, but it's probably only myself noticing, and maybe Chris. Speaking of, every morning when we wake up he likes to rub my tummy and wish the Rookie a good morning and least a "Heeellllooooo!". Very cute.
This past week has just been great-- mostly because I got to see lots of family as Robin, Joe, Ally (Bub and Joe's dog), Kate, Gramma and I all converged in Westford to hang out with Mom and Piper. During last Friday afternoon's Gramma-napping in Kittery, we also got to see my Aunt Lynne. And, on Saturday, Kate, Bub and I picked up Great Aunt Dottie (who wrote a fabulous, how-to-get-the-Rookie-to-be-a-full-fledged-member-of-Sox-nation-by-2010 congratulations card) and headed off to our second cousin's Lynette baby shower down in southern MA (Lynette and her older sister Donna are Dottie's grandchildren). Plus, visits with Jen and Liz while up north. Busy time! And, of course, we made sure to visit Kimball's for some ice cream-- the Rookie's first visit to a place I think she/he will appreciate greatly later.
We are feeling good as a whole. No magical burst of 2nd trimester energy, but also not crashing as hard at night perhaps. It's going to be a gorgeous week here in DC so it's a good excuse to do lots of walking, and give frisbee a whirl (hopefully) this Saturday. Exciting to think about all the developments happening with the Rookie-- read below for more, and treat yourself to a lemonade this week. :)
love merrie
