I knew there was a reason I loved carrot cake!

Hi folks! The Rookie is the size of a carrot-- what a good excuse for some carrot cake to celebrate! Those with good taste that already have a track record of carrot cake appreciation (Kate, Aleck, myself, etc) will hopefully celebrate the Rookie's continued growth... Speaking of continued growth, I feel like I am growing very quickly these days. I'm making good use of my maternity clothes (again, special thanks to Lea and Stacey, and Pam-- Liz's sister, for supplies!) and so I am now looking, at least to me and those who know me, like a pregnant lady. And a cute, well-dressed one at that! There are only a few items (elastic waist shorts and skirts) from my normal wardrobe that work for me. The Rookie's friend Charlie will hopefully be coming home today-- he had a little bit of a tough time in his first day or two, but he's doing better now and I'm excited the family will be home together (Lea and Wes slept at home last night). While the weekend in TN for Jess' wedding was at a camp, the Rookie will also get it's first full camping experience this weekend-- a group of about a dozen, organized by our buddy Jeff, is heading out for the weekend to George Washington National Forest this weekend at a great spot a short hike away from swimming in the Shenandoah River. After the crazy heat we've had over the past week, sitting in a river sounds great! Our ultrasound is next Monday, June 16, so we'll update you all on the Rookie's gender unless you don't want to know next week. Love to all!md
