Launching the Rookie's blog!

Hi there! If you've landed here you've obviously figured out that I set up a blog to keep folks updated on our growing family. Chris and I struggled a bit about how to label it-- we didn't want to do something too linked to our "real" identities for privacy reasons. We've gone (at least for now) with this url and plan to use this as more of a tool to avoid populating your inboxes so much. I figure we'll post updates here and then folks can go to http://picasaweb.google.com/merriedodson/ for more pictures...

I've gone ahead and posted all the "Rookie emails" from the past 6+ months-- for those who haven't seen these, I started sending out weekly emails to a growing list of folks about how I was doing in the course of pregnancy, and things we learn about our little guy as we go along. It was great to skim through them again as I copied and pasted them on to this site-- no need to read, but I figured it's a good reference for at least me and perhaps others as well. With each of these emails, I also forwarded the summary that I get weekly from the Baby Center that includes a week-by-week description (see their slideshow) of how big the Rookie is, approximately.

I'm not promising weekly posts, but we'll keep this blog updated as much as we can, and post pictures as this adventure continues as well.
