The Rookie gets ready to party!

Hi everyone! I'm taking a break from eating watermelon (and finally done with my Tuesday night RESULTS calls) and figured I would dash off a quick Rookie update. We are all doing well-- healthy and happy, though definitely starting to feel more fatigued again (though, similar to the summary below, not as tired as the first trimester). We had a group pregnancy session last Thursday where I got my belly "cast" (an activity profiled by CNN: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2008/09/07/nat.pkg.belly.art.cnn, though we will not decorate quite as elaborately as some of these) while Chris waited in the hall, our two-week prenatal checkup (ironically, I seem to have lost a 1/2 lb in the last two weeks), prenatal yoga (to answer my sister's question, yes, Chris does it too) and our last childbirth class. Speaking of classes, Chris and I (and, of course, the Rookie) attended a full-day Infant/Child CPR and First Aid class at our local Red Cross and we are now certified-- and hoping to never have to use it. Other highlights of the last week include quality time with Amanda (babysitting before having dinner with her parents) and the Rookie's first A's game in utero-- luckily, the A's beat the Orioles 5-1. We're getting ready for more fun times this weekend: Mom, Bub, and Jen fly down and we will be celebrating the Rookie this Saturday with folks here in DC-- we hope the rain will hold off so we can be in Rock Creek Park as planned. Yoo-hoo!!!! Hard to believe that it's just six weeks or so to go-- and he's full-term in three! (And, of course, could wait for eight) I feel big and it's getting harder to be comfy and sleep as deeply-- not only the usual pregnancy need to pee, but just finding a position where my belly, and back, feel supported. I like to shove my belly into Chris so that when the Rookie decides to throw a 5 am dance party, no one gets to sleep through it. Speaking of his vigorous movements, we tried to capture the Rookie's moves via video last Sunday-- and here are links to a few attempts:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4982729144066657849http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8966913326014400858http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8406062537532120905 Honestly, I don't think the punches and kicks translate well into movies (in other words, not that interesting really but maybe if you are a soon-to-be-grandparent you'd find them worth watching) but they are sure entertaining for us! That's the news here. Thinking of you all, near and far!!! love the incubator and her cargo
