"Might've, could've, should've..."

So, after a mildly uncomfortable morning, it seems like stuff is happening enough to warrant a quick blog post. I first woke up at 4 this morning with what I thought was a pretty bad backache that came in waves (and was strong enough to get/keep me up)... and eventually learned that my Mom started all of her labors with "back labor". The subject line of this post is courtesy of Chris, who wanted to note that this post is about CONTRACTIONS! At this point (Monday at 11:30) I am having sporadic, average 40-50 second long contractions that are typically 10 minute apart. But, they are somewhat inconsistent-- some only 5 minutes apart, and 1-2 25 minutes apart.
Mom Dodson is at Logan Airport waiting for a noon shuttle, and Kate is chilling with Chris and I watching The Wire-- we pause during contractions since the story line is so good and complex that I can't follow it in the midst. I am glad we bought a balance/yoga ball for home...
I suspect/hope we'll head to the Birth Center later on today when they are 5-1-1: 5 minutes apart, 1 minute long, for 1 hour. The Rookie is moving around and has the hiccups as I type (and kept them during the contraction I just had mid-sentence).
That's the news here. We'll keep everyone updated, of course, and sorry if this is a false alarm.
